In Remembrance Of

Pete Scilla

Dec 28, 1951 - Feb 14, 2026

Pete Scilla was far more than The Roomates' saxophone player—he was a cherished friend and irreplaceable part of our musical family. Known throughout Central Pennsylvania for his warmth, friendliness, and eagerness to perform, Pete brought a level of talent, professionalism, and joy to every stage he stepped onto. Whether he was delivering a soaring saxophone solo or sharing a laugh between sets, Pete had a way of making everyone around him better.

Pete began playing saxophone at the age of seven and was performing professionally as a teenager. After taking many years away from performing to focus on family and career, he returned to music after retirement with the same passion and dedication that had defined his early years. His return to the stage enriched the Central Pennsylvania music scene.

To The Roomates, Pete was more than a bandmate. He was the first person to volunteer his time, offer encouragement, lend his expertise, or jump on stage to help create a memorable performance. His generosity, kindness, and genuine love for music left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Pete's legacy lives on in every note we play, every audience we entertain, and every musician he inspired. While his absence is deeply felt, we remain grateful for the time we shared, the music we created together, and the friendship that will forever be part of The Roomates' story. We dedicate our performances to the memory of a truly remarkable musician and an even better person.
